Coachella 2016 Recap
Wow, guys. I feel like I just resurrected from Zombieland. I've heeded warnings from Coachella veteran's but I did not expect post-Coachella to be as depressing as it was. BUT, I'm alive, up, moving, slowly regaining my strength, motivation, and inspiration to get back into reality and ahead of the game.
Coachella was magical. There's no better word that could express what I went through. My friends and I literally frolicked our way through the Coachella grounds like we were unicorns...magical unicorns traversing through lala-land. Makes sense right? And no, we were not on drugs. We were just happy to be together, surrounded by happy people, listening to happy music, in our happy place.
My highlights for the festival were definitely Monster's of Men and James Bay. The other artists and DJ's were fun to dance to but I'm the kine that bawls watching "The Voice" so for me it was all about the vocals and the feels. Sia was great but her show wasn't any different from what you would normally see on T.V.. Ellie Golding looked gorgeous, sang beautifully, and I learned that the girl's got some moves! I developed a new obsession for Lauren Mayberry of Chvrches. M83's tracks had the crowd in tears--"Wait" by M83--download it, listen to it, cry to it. Chainsmokers nailed it. Calvin Harris did alright--where was Rihanna, yo??
I have to say that my favorite part of Coachella was the time spent with family and friends. We were lucky enough to rent a gorgeous house all to ourselves. We created memorable havoc in the best ways possible.
Unfortunately, DSLR's were prohibited on the grounds so I didn't bother bringing it at all. Instead, I leave you with this Coachella-inspired Kandy Kiss clothing line photoshoot:
That's it, that's all! Thanks for reading!
