Hermosa Engagement Session: Flor & Umair

They met 10 years ago, during freshmen orientation at Dartmouth College, New Hampshire.  Or should I say, Flor saw him and Umair saw free food.  No words were ever exchanged but a glance was long enough for her to feel a special spark.  Little did she know the spark would later ignite into something much greater.  But on a campus with 4000+ students, Flor knew the chances of crossing paths again were slim.

Flor later joined her dorm's Facebook group and decided to peruse her neighbors profiles when Umair's profile picture halted her in her virtual tracks.  Call it serendipity or call it a byproduct of social media--or let's call it modern serendipity--it was the social platform + being in the right place at the right time that connected these two young soon-to-be lovers.

With the help of her friend, Flor mustered up the courage to walk to Umair's room to introduce themselves.  As they approached his opened door, the friend ditched, and Flor found herself standing alone in front of the young handsome man.  They introduced themselves and from that moment on their lives forever changed.  They earned their degrees and their relationship blossomed into being the foundation of which their dreams grew.

During a trip to visit Flor's family in Mexico, Umair, this time, made the courageous move to get down on one knee and ask her to spend the rest of their lives together.

Umair's occupation brought the two of them out to the other side of the coast where they will be spending the next few years in Los Angeles.  The engagement photoshoot was taken in Hermosa Beach to incorporate the California look--the start of a new beginning to a beautiful love.

These two are big foodies and coffee lovers

Congratulations, Flor & Umair, I'm glad the universe led you to each other because in the short time we had together, the love that binds you two is powerful and genuine and I felt it ALL.  I can't wait to see photos of your wedding!
