The Modern Bride: Boho Styled Photoshoot

southbayphotographer.jpg

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing a dear and gorgeous friend of mine.  I wanted to create the modern-day bride look--you know...away with the traditional white gown + veil, in with the flower crowns + light, airy revealing dresses.  I had been envisioning this for quite some time now and with the help of the wonderful and amazing make-up artist, we were able to execute my vision and exceed ALL expectations.  Thank you, Jennifer, for being such a fab model--for standing near the edge of cliffs with 100+ foot drops, for prancing through prickly bushes barefoot, for burning your retinas by staring into the sun, for being vulnerable and doing it so professionally and beautifully.  And thank you, Jessica, for your artistry and creating the look I envisioned.  I mean, exactly, what I envisioned + more.

So without further ado, here are the images from the photoshoot: Enjoy!

Here I was going for a more natural, earthy, grounded modern bride.  I made the flower crown with olive branches, and the dress from Free People. We shot this at Rancho Palos Verdes.

I mean...perfection. Am I right, or am I right?

This look is a tad bit glamorous than the earthy look.  I really wanted to play up the earth tones with this look.  We shot this in Hermosa Beach area.

In honor of Memorial Day, we did this.

The third and final look was a bit bolder and darker.  I wanted to incorporate a darker side to the modern day bride, with subtle details like the choker and bold lips.
