Sarah + Kyle: Anniversary Portraits

manhattanbeachpierengagement

The unexpected is what usually brings the unbelievable and this was exactly the case for Kyle and Sarah's love story.  Kyle first set his eyes on Sarah during a night out in Denver and small talk led to an exchange of numbers.  The two texted and talked on the phone frequently and Sarah learned quickly of Kyle's sweet personality and keen sense of humor.  Kyle followed through on his growing feelings and attraction for Sarah by asking her out to dinner.  She denied.  Sarah was interested, but love was not on her agenda--or so she thought.  Luckily, Kyle knew what he wanted and never gave up.  With time his persistence paid off and Sarah finally gave in.  The two reconvened for their first date at an Italian restaurant in Denver--and everything came into perspective.  Sarah tells me the moment Kyle walked in, her "heart skipped a beat and it knew instantly that he was the one long before her brain did."  Their love was unexpected, but it blossomed into something so beautiful and unbelievable.

Exactly one year ago, on September 19th, the two exchanged their vows at the breath-taking Air Force Academy Chapel.  Shortly after, Kyle received an assignment to Los Angeles, California.  Another unexpected life event for Sarah and Kyle but being the laid back, fun-loving couple they are, the two have taken on these changes with open mind and hearts, and have been enjoying all that California has to offer.  To commemorate their time in LA and document the beginning of their military journey together we took these photos of the couple under the Manhattan Beach Pier.  Kyle wore his love for the Chicago Bears and Sarah's for the Denver Broncos--house dived but love united.
